Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus Activation Guide (Updated)

To activate Office 2019 Professional Plus, install it, open Word and enter your 25-character product key. If online activation is refused, choose "I want to activate the software by telephone". Give Microsoft's automated phone line the Installation ID shown on screen, then type the Confirmation ID it reads back. Most phone activations take 3–5 minutes.

Your order email states the method. If it says "phone activation", go straight to Step 2 after installing; online activation will be refused.

Before you start

• Remove other Office versions: Office 2019 Click-to-Run won't install alongside other Click-to-Run Office versions, including the Microsoft 365 apps that come preinstalled on many new PCs. Uninstall them from Settings → Apps → Installed apps, then restart.
• Check your Windows version: Office 2019 runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. It does not run on Windows 7 or 8.1.
• Have your key ready: It's in your order email: 25 characters in five groups (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX).

How to Activate MS Office 2019 Professional Plus with Product Key

Step 1: Download and install Office 2019 Professional Plus

1. Download Office Pro Plus 2019 ISO from the link in your order email. It is Microsoft's own installation file, served from officecdn.microsoft.com, and comes as an .img file.
2. Double-click the .img file. Windows opens it as a virtual drive.
3. Run Setup.exe and wait. Office installs in the background and shows "You're all set" when it's finished. Allow about 10–20 minutes, depending on your connection.

Step 2: Enter your product key

1. Open MS Word (or any Office app).
2. When asked, enter your 25-character Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 activation code. If you're not prompted, go to File > Account > Change Product Key.
3. Choose Activate.

If you see "Product Activated", you're done. Skip to Step 4 to confirm.

If you see a message saying the key can’t be activated online or that it’s been used too many times online, that's normal for phone-activation keys. Continue with Step 3.

Step 3: Microsoft Office Professional Plus Activation by phone

1. In the Activation Wizard, select "I want to activate the software by telephone" and choose Next.
2. Select your country or region. The wizard shows a phone number and a long Installation ID in numbered blocks.
3. Call the number shown and follow the automated prompts. When asked, read or key in the Installation ID block by block.
4. When asked how many PC this copy of Office is installed on, answer 1.
5. The system reads back a Confirmation ID. Type each block into the matching boxes (A, B, C, …) in the wizard.
6. Choose Next. The wizard confirms that Office is activated.

Tips:

• Keep the wizard open while you call. Closing it creates a new Installation ID.
• If the automated system can't verify your ID, stay on the line to speak to a Microsoft agent.
• In some regions, Microsoft may send you a text with a Microsoft web link to enter the ID instead.
• If phone activation still fails, email support@msckey.com with a screenshot. Every key comes with a 30-day replacement guarantee.

Use only the phone number shown in the Activation Wizard. Don't use third-party "Confirmation ID" websites or tools. They aren't run by Microsoft, and you don't need them for a genuine key.

Step 4: Check that Office 2019 Pro Plus is activated

The easy way: open Word > File > Account. Under Product Information you should see "Product Activated – Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019".

The detailed way:

1. Open Command Prompt as administrator.
2. Run:cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16"cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus(For 32-bit Office, use C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16.)
3. Look for LICENSE STATUS: ---LICENSED---. The last five characters shown should match the end of your key.

Should You Still Use Office Professional Plus 2019?

Office 2019 Professional Plus still works, but it no longer receives security updates, and Microsoft doesn't test it with new Windows 11 releases. That matters because malicious Office documents are a common way attacks get in.

If you only need Office for a short time in Offline mode, Office 2019 is workable. For anything long-term, choose a supported Microsoft Office version:

Yes. Phone activation works without an internet connection. You need the Installation ID shown on screen and a phone.

Can I move my Office 2019 license key to another PC?

Phone-activation and OEM keys are activated for one PC. To move Office to a new PC, you have to buy an Office 2019 retail or bind key.

Will Office 2019 still get updates?

No. Security updates ended on 14 October 2025. Activation system still works.

Do I need a Microsoft account?

Not for phone-activation keys. They aren't linked to a Microsoft account.
